DMP Introduces XTL Wireless Security Panel
Distributed system provides better security; wireless enables faster installs
Springfield, Missouri — March 24, 2010 — Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) introduced its newest security innovation, the XTL Wireless Security Panel, at ISC West in Las Vegas. The totally wireless XTL panel slashes installation time, making it possible for system dealers to make more installations per day. Unlike all-in-one panels that can be disabled relatively easily, the XTL is a true, professionally installed, distributed life-safety system that’s perfect for any residential or small to medium commercial installations.
“The XTL panel offers features that will make both our dealers and their customers very happy,” said Vice President of Sales, Mark NeSmith. “With pre-programmed zone names, our dealers will like the fact that one installer can complete an XTL installation, and do it in much less time than traditional wired systems. The days of wandering around basements and crawling through attics are over. We have vastly improved the overall customer experience because wireless means a cleaner installation with no holes in their home or building. Of course the bottom line is that it provides outstanding security.”
At 3.75” x 5.5”, the XTL is the most compact DMP panel available, providing added installation flexibility. While the panel may be small, it still packs in features found in larger DMP panels, including 28 two-way wireless zones, 6 areas, and 30 user codes. The XTL supports up to 4 wireless keypads (with optional built-in proximity readers), up to 8 outputs which include wireless key fobs, sirens, annuciators and relays. DMP two-way wireless technology eliminates repetitive signaling between devices, increasing battery life.
As a distributed system, the panel, sensors, and sounder are separate components. That makes it much more difficult to disable an XTL system compared to all-in-one alarm systems.
The built in GSM cellular communicator enables the DMP In Touch™ Messaging Features that make it possible for users to control their systems remotely via text message. They can also opt to receive system alarms and alerts via text message to three cell phone numbers.
