XR20 Firmware Level 201 Update

November 14, 2000

Firmware Update Effective November 2000, all XR20 Command Processor panels are being shipped from the factory with version 201 (11/9/00) firmware. This version is an update from the 201 (11/1/00) firmware previously shipped and contains updated operation.

Updated Operation Address Five Keypad bus address five is now always available to operate an unsupervised keypad regardless of whether a wireless device is attached to the bus. In the previous firmware, keypad address five did not operate at all. Up until this update, keypad address five only operated when a wireless device such as a FA426 or 738A was attached to the keypad bus. Now, keypad address five is ALWAYS on. IMPORTANT NOTICE Version 201 For Level L Only XR20 201 (11/9/00) firmware chip is ONLY for use with PC-0063 level L hardware or higher. This firmware has been updated for 895 operation and will not operate in PC-0027 level K and older boards. The section XR20 Enhanced Hardware on the second page of this technical update specifically describes the difference between PC-0063 level L hardware and PC-0027 level K hardware. If you accidentally place the XR20 version 201 firmware chip into the PC-0027 level K board, the panel will not run. You can safely remove the version 201 firmware chip and replace with the version 108 firmware chip without any adverse affect on the panel memory. The XR20 version 108 (1/12/00) or lower firmware is ONLY for use with PC-0027 hardware level K or lower.
