REMOTE LINK AND SYSTEM LINK SOFTWARE UPDATE
November 05, 2003
Remote Link now features unattended downloading tools to make network data communication even more powerful and easy to use. Networked panels with dynamic IP addresses can now be trapped for Remote Link upload/download. This feature offers much faster access to networked panels to save your company programming time on each networked panel. New Features Network Panel Trapping Remote Link now supports the TCP Trap feature available in the iCOM and iCOM-E Version 103 and higher. This feature allows networked panels with dynamic IP addresses to be trapped for Remote Link upload/download. The options available on this tab are used to configure the TCP communication connection to the iCOM or iCOM-E version 103 or higher installed in the SCS-1 or SCS-1R receiver. TCP Trap Enabled: Check this box to enable TCP Trapping. Programming Application Address: Enter the IP address of the Remote Link computer that is used to program the panels. If the Remote Link computer is behind a firewall, enter the IP address of the network router. This address is sent to the panel iCOM or iCOM-E to use for connection to Remote Link for a remote upload/download session. Programming Application Port: This is the port used by the Remote Link computer to make the connection to the iCOM or iCOM-E using TCP protocol. The default value is 2002. Trap Server Address: Enter the IP address of the iCOM or iCOM-E installed in the SCS-1 or SCS-1R receiver. This address is used by Remote Link to send all trap messages. Trap Server Port: This is the port used by Remote Link to communicate with the iCOM or iCOM-E installed in the SCS-1 or SCS-1R. Trap Query Remote Link now provides a Trap Query window to view trap status for the receiver iCOM or iCOM-E. The Trap Query window remains empty until the Request button is selected. Remote Link then queries the receiver iCOM or iCOM-E configured in the TCP Trap tab in Remote Link Configuration. A new window displays the status of panel trap messages stored in the receiver iCOM or iCOM-E. The status displays as Waiting, Sent, Failed, or Expired. The receiver iCOM or iCOM-E can store up to 50 panel trap messages at a time. Note: Remote Link only supports the use of one iCOM or iCOM-E for network panel trapping. If you wish to send panel trap messages to a second iCOM or iCOM-E, the Trap Server Address configured in Remote Link Configuration>TCP Trap tab must to be changed to the second iCOM or iCOM-E IP address.
