Enhances Home Control Capabilities
With the latest upgrade to the DMP Virtual Keypad app, users gain expanded capabilities when using Z-Wave® devices integrated with their DMP XT™ and XTL™ control panels. The “Favorites” function lets users control multiple devices with a single button-press, while the Rooms function lets them create customized, touch-screen control over devices. These new capabilities continue to add popular control options for Virtual Keypad app users and enhance the value of their alarm systems as home control devices.
“Version 2.1 is a major enhancement to the Virtual Keypad,” said Vice President of Sales, Mark NeSmith. “Instead of separately controlling individual devices, users can preset a roomful of devices to respond with just one tap of the screen on their mobile device. With the Rooms feature, they get the kind of touch-screen capability that was once only available in the highest-end home automation systems. With this upgrade, DMP is bringing a new level of convenience and control to end users.”
The Virtual Keypad App already allows users to remotely control lights, thermostats, door locks, appliances, and more via an attractive and easy-to-use touch screen interface along with standard features such as arming/disarming, checking status, area arming and output control. Not to mention, branding capabilities for dealers to insert their logo into the app software.
The new “Favorites” function allows users to create a named Favorite and then assign multiple devices to respond to a single command. For example, the Favorite called “Movie Night” could lock the exterior doors, adjust the temperature and dim the lights in the family room to the desired level.
The new “Rooms” function enables users to take a photo of the room or area, then create “hotspots” on the photo that correspond to the Z-Wave devices available. To use the Rooms feature, they select that room and then touch any hotspot to present them with the controls for that device. A combination of up to 20 Favorites and Rooms can be saved.
The app is compatible with new and existing DMP XTL™ Wireless Security System and the XT30/XT50™ Burglary/Fire/Door Access Panels with cellular or Static IP connections. The latest version of the DMP Virtual Keypad App for iPhones and iPads® is available for download at the Apple® App Store or for Android at the Android Market.
