13.56-MHz Contactless Smartcard Module with MIFARE® DESFire® EV1 Available Now
Proximity devices — there are millions of them used today. While they're still a viable option, we feel that increased security technologies are warranted. Today, DMP is releasing an assortment of new readers and cards to support greater security.
For its increased security features, DMP chooses to offer card technology that uses Mifare DESFire EV1 features. Namely, explains Adam Kinder, DMP Access Control product manager, "These devices communicate at 13.56 MHz, not 125 kHz, which reduces the ability to copy a credential. Also, the data on the card is secured across multiple sectors that must authenticate with the correct encryption keys before any data is exchanged."
The new readers and cards, available now to purchase through DMP, include:
- Delta3, MIFARE® DESFire®, Mullion-Mount Smartcard Reader
- Delta5, MIFARE DESFire, Single-Gang, Wall-Switch Mount Smartcard Reader
- Delta6.4 MIFARE DESFire Contactless Smartcard Reader and Keypad
- DE2, MIFARE DESFire EV1, Printable Card (10 or 100 packs)
