Calculated Data Length
Occasionally when sending a data packet that exceeded a certain length, the data packet would get cut off causing the entire message to scramble. This primarily affected XR500 panels but also sometimes XR150/XR550 panels. With Entré 8.8.4 (8/27/21) the transmission of the message is better calculated and each data packet is sent more accurately.
Assign Photo Capture
When attempting to assign an ID Photo Capture or Badge Designer ability to a workstation, the operator profile displayed a false error. Entré 8.8.4 (8/27/21) fixes this false error.
Version 8.8.1 | May 11, 2021
One Step Panel Deletion
If Allow deletion of items that normally may only be disabled is enabled in System Configuration, with this update, you can easily delete a panel by right-clicking the desired panel and selecting Delete. All the associated hardware, profiles, automation rules, etc. will be deleted. These items will need to be disabled or disassociated before the panel itself can be deleted. As before, the panel must be stopped prior to deletion.
Improved CSV Import
Previously, the CSV Import tool would not import badges when using an automation rule. Entre 8.8.1 (5/11/21) resolves that issue, and the CSV Import tool now imports badges using an automation rule.
Version 8.8 | March 12, 2021
Downloading of Badges Correction
In previous versions, when Auto Panel Start was set to False, the badges would not download to the panels properly. This error has been fixed to allow badges to download correctly when Auto Panel Start is set to either False or True.

Version 8.4.0 | September 27, 2019
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Entré now supports using SSO to authenticate users for Entré and panel access.
The Entré web client allows you to use a service provider, such as Ping Identity, to authenticate a user. When a user attempts to sign in, the service provider verifies the login information from the Tomcat server and assigns a certificate that grants access to the web client.
The Entré full client allows you to assign a Windows user to an operator. When a user signs in to Windows, their login is checked against information in the Entré database. If the user exists in Entré, they are authenticated and automatically singed in when the program is opened.
- IdP Entity id: The Entré SSO Service Entity ID (URI)
- IdP redirect url: The web client Apache Tomcat server address and port number
- Assertion consumer service url: The service provider’s authentication server address and port number
- SP entity id: The service provider’s connection ID (URI)
Fully Delete Data
Entré now enables you to fully delete unused panels and related data. This feature drastically reduces the amount of storage taken up by unnecessary data in the Entré SQL database. Deleting unused data also significantly improves the overall performance of Entré, especially during automation operations like copy and prune.
When you attempt a record deletion, Entré does not allow the deletion of dependent records to maintain data integrity.
Holiday Defaults
Note: This feature is only available for panels that are added in Entré after upgrading to Version 8.4.0.
Holidays created in panel programming now default to the following pre-selected holiday categories in Entré:
- A—National
- B—Company
- C—Religious
Holiday categories can be modified in the Calendars module.
More Secure Operator Password Hashing
Operator passwords are now hashed more securely within Entré. All new users and users who change their passwords can take advantage of this improved functionality.
Improved Search: Hardware List and Hardware Tree
Improvements to search in the Hardware List and Hardware Tree modules enable you to search by panel account number. This feature also improves the performance of both modules because all systems are not loaded automatically. Instead, results are populated according to the search terms entered.
Improved Performance
Changes have been made to improve performance of Entré and create a better user experience. This may result in a slightly longer upgrade time, especially for users with older versions of Entré.

Improved Performance
Changes have been made to the database to improve performance of Entré.
Version 8.1.2 | December 31, 2018
Communication Improvements
On Entré Version 8.1.2 (12/31/18), an issue was resolved with retrieving the panel configuration. When users retrieved panel configuration, audit records were created for the hardware changes. The hardware changes were then processed with an error. If the code failed to handle the error, the Process Changes Queue could stop working at a customer site. This issue has now been resolved.
A separate issue was resolved with receiving excessive messages at the receiver. When users performed group edits, a Remote Programming Complete (s83) message was generated for every change, causing excessive messages at the receiver. This issue has now been resolved.
Version 8.1.1 | October 22, 2018
Key Fob Improvements
On Entré Version 8.1.1 (10/22/18), an issue was resolved where non-Entré NOC users with Entré 8.0 and 8.1 received invalid key fob communications from Entré to their panels. This caused excessive downloads from Entré to the panels, resulting in panels sending a Remote Programming Complete message to central stations. This issue has now been resolved.
Entré NOC users will see key fob improvements with the Entré Version 8.1.1 (10/22/18) release.
Database Improvements
There have been several updates made to improve database efficiency.
Version 8.1 | August 31, 2018

- Hibernate.c3p0.timeout=5000 changed to equal 400
- Note: These procedures are also covered in the Entré Server Maintenance Document.
For Entré installations with 100 or more panels an adjustment to the hibernate.properties needs to be made.
- Hibernate.c3p0.max_size=100 changed to equal 1000
- Hibernate.c3p0.timeout=5000 changed to equal 400
This change can be made by stopping the Entré Service, opening the hibernate.properties file with Wordpad or Notepad++, making the edits to the corresponding lines, saving the file, and then starting the Entré Service.

For XR150/XR550 Series panels with Version 172 or higher, you can now decide which types of reports you would like to have sent to Entré. In the Remote Options section of panel programming, select from the following reports. All Entré reports are enabled by default.
- Entré Arm/Disarm Reports - Sends arming, disarming, and Late to Close events. Includes the area number, name and action, the user number and name, and the time and date the event occurred.
- Entré Zone Reports - Sends changes in the status of active zones. Includes the zone number, name, type, the action (alarm, trouble, bypass, etc.), user number (if applicable), and area name. During a Walk Test, Verify and Fail messages are sent for each zone.
- Entré User Command Reports - Sends user code changes, schedule changes, and door access denied events.
- Entré Door Reports - Sends door access activity, door number, user number and name, and time and date the event occurred.
- Entré Supervisory Reports - Sends system monitor reports, such as AC and battery, and system event reports. If this feature is enabled, the panel also sends Abort, Exit Error, Ambush, System Recently Armed, Alarm Bell Silenced, Unauthorized Entry, and Late to Close reports.
Inactive User Audit Days (XR550 Only)
You can now enable Inactive User Code Audit Days on a per-profile basis through Entré. This feature allows you to choose the number of days a user code can remain unused before the panel sends an Inactive User Code message to the receiver and changes the user code to inactive. The range is 0-425 days.
To enable Inactive User Code Audit Days on a specific profile, navigate to the Management menu and select User Code Profile. Add a profile or select an existing profile to edit. Enter the desired number of days in the Inactive User Code Audit Days field and check the Enabled box. Enter any other necessary information and click Save and Close.

Previously supported units from Dedicated Macros and March Networks are no longer being supported by their manufacturers.
Inactive User Alarm Notification
Now, when a user code reaches the end of its programmed Inactive User Audit Days, an alarm notification is displayed in Entré. See Figure 3. This alarm is designed to inform the operator that the user code is now inactive. At this point, the operator can choose to set the user’s badge to inactive in Entré.
Version 7.9.8 | December 5, 2017
Extended Status Information
Entré now pulls information or the Extended Status overview from the database, not the panel. This change removed unnecessary network traffic and improves Entré's overall operation speed.
Audit Record Shows Before and After
When you navigate to the Audit Trail and view a specific Audit Record, you can now see the Before and After status of any changes along with a short description. Depending on the type of change made, the description may include limited details.
Panel Firmware Version Support
Entré now supports XR150/XR550 Series panels with Version 171 firmware and below.
Multi-Device Programming
With Entré Version 7.9.8 (12/5/17) you can make programming changes to multiple devices at the same time. The devices you are editing must be in the same family. This feature is especially useful when changing programming for large groups of panels, 734 Wiegand Interface Modules, wireless receivers, or zones.
To edit multiple devices, navigate to the Hardware List and order the list by Type. Hold down the Shift or Ctrl key and highlight multiple devices. Click Group Edit in the top menu. Fields that are editable will be available. Any changes you make are sent to all devices in that group.
Activate and Deactivate Cellular Communicators
Entré now allows you to activate and deactivate cellular communicators. For panels with primary or backup cellular communication, navigate to the Edit - Panel window and select Communication. Select a cellular communicator to edit or add a new on. In the add or edit Communication Path window, enter the necessary information and click Cellular Activation. You can also retrieve the status of existing cell cards that have been activated from Entré.
Allow Duplicate IPs
You can now have two panels with the same IP address, but different port numbers.
Personnel ID# Characters
Hyphens are now allowed when entering Personnel ID#s.
Historical Events Driver
In the Historical Events Driver, you can set live events to be copied and then pruned once they are older than a defined number of days.
Navigate to the Hardware Tree and right-click on the Historical Events Driver. Click Edit, and then select the Configuration section in the Edit window. You can enter a number of days in the Prune live events older than and Copy live events older than fields.
Copying events sends duplicate live event records to the Historical Events Driver. Pruning events deleted them from the live event record. Pruning will not delete any events in the Historical Events Driver, unless the Permanently delete historical events check box is selected.
Partition-Restricted Workstations
In System Configuration, you can now hide workstations across partitions by using the Partition-restricted workstations: only explicitly licensed items check box in the Miscellaneous section.
Automatically Send Hardware Configuration Changes
Version 7.9.8 (12/5/17) allows hardware configuration changes to be automatically sent to panels. Users can now navigate to System Configuration, select the DMP Communication section, and check the Auto send hardware configuration option. This feature is only recommended for experienced Entré users.
If the Auto send hardware configuration option is unchecked, hardware configuration changes will need to be sent to the panel manually.
Global Check-In Time
Versions previous to 7.9.8 (12/5/17) used the panel's configured check-in time to determine if the panel was still online. Now, Entré also has the option to use a global check-in time. Entré automatically uses the higher of the two values to ensure that the panel is communication properly. The default global check-in time is 20 minutes. The 20-minute default time can be changed by an Entré-certified technician, if necessary. For this feature to be available, Entré Check-In Minutes must be programmed in the panel from Remote Options. This allows the panel to continue checking in without Entré marking it as offline.
Remote Link Zone Type Changes
When Remote Link is used to change a 24-Hour Zone to an Area Zone, or an Area Zone to a 24-Hour Zone, the associated panel is stopped in Entré. The panel remains stopped until the zone is manually changed. This allows the user to control what happens to the zone's audit history.
Faster Group Edit
Entré's group edit process is now faster.
Badge Import Utility
Entré now offers the ability to import branches of unassigned badges using the Entré Importer utility. Card numbers, hot stamps, and user codes can be imported into Entré and stored. Users no longer have to key in each card as they are assigned to personnel.
Improved Installation Process
Entré now features a simpledr and more efficient installation process. Whether a technician is installing a new instance of Entré or upgrading an existing instance, Entré offers a series of easy-to-follow installation screens that allow the technician to select the options that best fit the location.
24-Hour Zone Wireless Properties
Wireless properties are now enabled for 24-Hour Zones.
CSV Import Validation
Now, when performing a CSV import, Entré checks the CSV's data before allowing it to be imported. This helps prevent invalid values from stopping the panel driver.
Holiday and Calendar Changes
All holiday and/or calendar changes are now automatically sent to associated panels. Also, when a holiday date is deleted from the calendar it is cleanly removed from the panel.
Editing Wireless Zones
With Version 7.9.8 (12/5/17), you can now edit the settings of a wireless zone without saving it first.
Panel Configuration Download
If you choose to clear and download panel configuration for users, profiles, and schedules. Entré removed all existing users, profiles, and schedules from the panel and sends down the information through Entré. With Version 7.9.8, the user number always starts at 2 when doing a clear and download.
Hardware Tree Error
Editing offline panels from the Hardware Tree does not display an error in Version 7.9.8 (12/5/17).
Panel to Badge Recognition
When viewing a specific badge in the badge Edit - Badge display, user codes will only show as being associated with the correct panels in the Panels downloaded to field.
64-Bit Card Reader Stability
Version 7.9.8 (12/5/17) resolves an issue where the 64-Bit card reader would intermittently fail when trying to read a credential.
Version 7.9.5 | August 2, 2016
Performance Improvements
General performance improvements have been made to hardware tasks and interactions. These enhancements will be particularly noticeable for large, multi-panel installations.
Support for Card Plus PIN By Profile
Entré now supports the Card Plus PIN By Profile feature that was made available with XR550 Version 105. Profiles featuring Card Plus PIN can be applied to individual users. Once applied, users are required to present two credentials when requesting access. This offers a higher level of access restriction for select users.
734 Entré Central Station Programming
With Version 7.9.5, 734 Interface Modules can be programmed through Entré Central Station. Previously, installers had to connect to the 734 Interface Module through Remote Link™ software or an onsite hardwired keypad. Installers are now able to program any 734 Interface Module through their Entré Central Station portal.
Delete Panels from the Entré Database
To increase database access efficiency, installers and end users can now delete panels through Entré Central Station. If a panel is incorrectly or incompletely added to Entré, it can be deleted to avoid redundant or unnecessary data.
Support for XR550 Version 111
Entré supports XR550 firmware up to and including Version 111. New available features include AX-Bus door compatibility.
Longer User Codes
Entré now accommodates user codes with up to 12 digits.
Support for 96 Doors
Support for 96 doors has been added to Entré. Version 7.9.5 is compatible with AX-Bus expansion door controllers on Version 111 of XR550 Series panels. This allows for up to 96 doors per panel.
Spanish Translations
Spanish translations are now available for all updated Entré Version 7.9.5 functionality.
Badge Editor Profile Search Function
Users can now search for a profile when editing or creating a badge. This allows large companies to quickly locate and apply specific profiles without scrolling through a list of all available profiles.
New Credential Types
The Credential Types portion of Entré’s Personnel Editor now offers more options. Tabs have been added for Keys, Parking Passes, Logins, and Support Documents. These new sections are for record keeping only and are not sent to the panel.
Hardware List
In addition to the standard Hardware Tree, Entré now offers an alternative hardware list. This list allows quick sorting, grouping, and management of hardware using search and column headers.
Version 7.9.3 D4 | September 9, 2014
Event Listening Port
The Event Listening Port can now be manually changed from the default of 2001 using the System Configuration module.
Updated Operation
To resolve the following issues related to schedules, after Entré is updated from 7.9.3 D3 or 7.9.3 D2, schedules are automatically cleared and sent to all panels in the database the first time Entré is started.
Profile Schedules
In the previous Entré Version 7.9.3 D3 if clear schedules was selected when schedules were sent to an XR550 Series panel, schedule assignments in profiles were not sent. Entré no longer clears the Profile schedule assignments when clearing schedules.
Time Schedules
Time schedules created in Version 7.9.3 D2 were incorrectly sent to the panel after Entré was updated to Version 7.9.3 D3. All schedules were sent as schedule 1 and only the last schedule sent was retained by the panel.
Deleting Schedules
Time schedules created in Version 7.9.3 D2 could not be deleted after Entré was updated to Version 7.9.3 D3.
New Schedules
When a new schedule was created and sent to a panel, Entré unnecessarily sent previously programmed panel schedules to all panels in the database.
System Configuration
Occasionally, an error message was displayed when exiting the System Configuration module. When this occurred the client interface may have stopped responding requiring the client interface to be restarted.
Version 7.9.3 D3 | February 27, 2014
Panel Model
When a new panel is added, the operator can now manually select the panel’s model number from a dropdown box in the General tab. This allows the operator to program Schedules and Profiles before connecting to the panel. Previously, Entré needed to connect to the new panel before schedules and profiles could be created.
XR550 Series DHCP Support
Entré Version 7.9.3 D3 (2/21/14) now supports XR150/XR350/XR550 Series Panels operating with Version 104 or higher software that are using a DHCP connection to the network. Once programmed, the panel automatically establishes a connection with Entré. To enable this feature, set the port to 0 and leave the Host IP Address blank in the DMP Panel Wizard. In the panel Programming menu Remote Options, program an Incoming IP port of 0.
XR550 Series Communication Programming
Previously, when connected to an XR150/XR350/XR550 Series Control Panel, Entré was unable to retrieve Communication programming from the panel.
Schedules
Previously, Entré was only able to download a schedule to an XR150/XR350/XR550 Series Panel if the schedule was one of the first 99 created in the database. Entré now downloads the appropriate schedules to each panel.
Admin Reader
When Entré was installed on a 64-bit system and an admin reader was used to create a badge, an error would occur when the Read button was pressed. The card was not read. Entré now supports Admin readers on 64-bit systems.
Version 7.9.3 D2 | October 8, 2013
Panel Programming
After uploading panel programming from Entré CS Version 7.9.3 D2 (9/23/13) to an XR500 panel operating with Version 211 or earlier software, the programming was formatted incorrectly. This caused some programming fields to contain incorrect information. This issue did not occur when the XR500 was operating with Version 212 software.
Version 7.9.3 D2 | September 23, 2013
User Profile Compatibility
A Compatibility dropdown menu has been added to the Add User Code Profile window to allow the creation of User Code profiles that are compatible with XR100/XR500 or XR150/XR350/XR550 Series Control Panels. The dropdown menu defaults to XR150/XR350/XR550 compatibility. Once panel compatibility has been chosen it cannot be changed for that profile.
XR550 Schedules
Entré now supports XR150/XR350/XR550 schedules. Eight schedules may be assigned for each area, door and output. When creating a schedule choose Time Schedule from the Usage type drop down. Once the Usage type has been chosen it cannot be changed for that schedule.
10 Digit User Code Support
Entré Version 7.9.3 D2 now supports User Codes up to 10 digits in length. To enable, open System Configuration > DMP Communication Configuration and enter 10 in the User Code Length field.
734N Support
Entré Version 7.9.3 D2 supports Device Status (such as Locked or Unlocked) of the 734N and 734N-WiFi Wiegand Interface Modules.
XR500 Version 212 Support
Entré now supports XR100/XR500 Series panels using up to Version 212 software.
Downloading Changes
Previously, while downloading a large set of changes to a panel, the panel’s state in the hardware tree may have prematurely changed from “Downloading” to “Online” before changes were completely downloaded to the panel. Version 7.9.3 properly displays “Downloading” until all changes are sent to the panel.
Log File Errors
When Entré received configuration information from a panel, Entré may have validated the information according to a different panel type causing an internal error. When excessive amounts of these errors were written to the log file the speed performance of Entré was affected. Entré Version 7.9.3 D2 properly validates information received from panels.
Reports
Reports generated from the Reports module did not include events that occurred on the end date defined in the report.
Schedule Reports
Schedule Reports generated from the Panel Schedules module may not have contained start and end times for individual schedules.
Duplicate Accounts
Previous versions of Entré incorrectly allowed a panel to be added with the same account number as a disabled panel already in the database. Version 7.9.3 D2 does not allow duplicate panel account numbers even if the duplicate account has been disabled.
Check-In Time
If the panel attempted to check-in with the Entré server while Entré was sending User Codes to the panel, Entré would not process the check-in and the panel would display as offline until the next check-in.
