Keypads FAQs

Version 107 or Later

1. Download the firmware update from DMP’s Product Software Downloads page.
2. Unzip the file onto a FAT32 formatted Micro-SD card.
3. Insert the card into the slot on the right of the keypad.
4. Power cycle the keypad or select Restart from the Keypad Options Menu.

Version 106 or Earlier

1. Contact the Customer Repair Center.
2. Request to update the keypad to the latest firmware version.
3. Send the keypad in to DMP to get updated.

Update the Keypad on Dealer Admin

1. Ensure that the keypad is connected to the Wi-Fi network before proceeding.
2. Navigate to Dealer Admin.
3. Select the user and system.
4. Next to the keypad name, select Update.

Update the Keypad in Installer Options

1. Ensure that the keypad is connected to the Wi-Fi network before proceeding.
2. Select Options from the Carousel menu, then select Installer Options.
3. Enter 3577 and press CMD. Select Check for Updates. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Thinline Keypads

1. Hold down the Back Arrow and CMD keys for two seconds.
2. At Set Brightness, enter 3577 + CMD.
3. Press the top row select key under KPD OPT to select Keypad Options.
4. Press any top row select key to clear the default keypad address. The default address is 01.
5. Enter the new keypad address and press CMD.
6. Program the keypad device number in Device Setup to match the new keypad address.

Touchscreen Keypads

1. Press Options in the Carousel menu.
2. Press the Installer Options wrench icon.
3. Enter 3577 + CMD.
4. Press the top row select area under KPD OPT to select Keypad Options.
5. Press any top row select area to clear the default keypad address. The default address is 01.
6. Enter the new keypad address and press CMD.
7. Program the keypad device number in Device Setup to match the new keypad address.

The most common source of address conflicts are from wireless zones that occupy the same address as the keypad. For example, the keypad is currently set at address 1 and wireless zones 11-14 were just added. The keypad address will need to be changed, or the zones can be reprogrammed at the next available address.

Programming

1. Reset the panel by placing the reset jumper across the reset pins for two seconds, then removing it to one pin.
2. At a keypad, press 6653 (PROG). XR Series panels need 6653 + CMD.
3. If the keypad says ENTER CODE after pressing PROG, enter the lockout code that was programmed by the original installing company.

Diagnostics

1. Reset the panel by placing the reset jumper across the reset pins for two seconds, then removing it to one pin.
2. At a keypad, press 2313 (DIAG). XR Series panels need 2313 + CMD.
3. The keypad screen will display DIAGNOSTICS.

Keypad Options

1. On a 7800 Series Keypad, scroll through the Carousel menu and select Options.
2. Tap the wrench icon.
3. Press 3577 (INST) + CMD.
4. Select KPD OPT to enter the keypad options menu.
